Master Your Defense: Space-Defense Tactical Drill

Objective: Improve the ability to defend a zone and prevent the attacker from gaining ground.

Rules:

  1. Mark out a rectangular field measuring 15×20 meters, and draw a line 4-5 meters from one of the end lines.
  2. One player positions themselves on the marked line as the defender, while another player stands outside the field, directly across from them, as the attacker.
  3. On the count of “3, 2, 1, Jugger,” the attacker tries to advance toward the field’s end line and push the defender out of the marked zone.
  4. The defender must prevent the attacker from gaining ground and pushing them past the back of the field. The defender can move laterally and must always stay facing the attacker to prevent them from advancing.
  5. The drill ends if the defender is pushed past the field’s back line.

Benefits:

  • Improves the ability to hold defensive positions.
  • Trains decision-making under pressure.
